How to play
  1. You own the bottom row of six pits; the phone owns the top row. Each pit starts with four seeds. You go first.
  2. Tap one of your pits. Its seeds are sown one per pit to the right along your row, then to the left along the phone's row, round and round.
  3. If the last seed lands in a pit that already had seeds, all of them are picked up and sowing goes on. The turn ends when the last seed lands in an empty pit.
  4. If that empty pit is on your side and the pit facing it has seeds, you capture them, with your last seed.
  5. When a player has nothing left to move, the game ends and each side keeps the seeds on it. Most seeds wins.

ገበጣ is played many ways across Ethiopia, with different seeds, rows and captures. These are the plainest rules. If your family plays it differently, tell us how — it may become the next version.
