Who may use Sefer

You must be at least 18 years old and verify a working phone number. One person, one account. Do not create an account for someone else or pretend to be someone you are not.

Sefer is currently for the Las Vegas area.

Sefer is an introduction, not a transaction

Outside ማድረሻ and ቅርጫ, we are not a party to anything you agree with another user. For listings, services and everything else on the board, we do not handle money, hold deposits, provide escrow, take commission, inspect goods, verify listings beyond automated screening, or guarantee that anyone will do what they said.

We do not employ, endorse, license, or vouch for any business or person listed here. Checking licences, references, and identity is your responsibility.

What you may not post

• Anything false, or a listing for something you do not have.
• Requests for payment before an in-person meeting, or for gift cards, wire transfers, or cryptocurrency.
• Immigration services promising a specific outcome, or offered by anyone who is not a licensed attorney or accredited representative.
• Housing advertisements stating a preference based on race, religion, national origin, sex, family status, or disability — including a preference meant kindly.
• Weapons, drugs, counterfeit goods, sexual services, or anything unlawful in Nevada.
• Another person's phone number, address, photograph, or immigration status without their consent.
• Repeated identical posts, or posts placed in a category they do not belong to.

Your content

What you post stays yours. You give Sefer permission to display, store, and translate it so the site can work, and to keep a copy after removal where needed for safety records.

You are responsible for what you post being true and lawful.

Screening and removal

Every submission is screened automatically before it appears, and may be published, held for review, or refused. We may also remove anything, at any time, if we believe it endangers someone here.

We will tell you why, in your language. If we get it wrong, say so — that is how the screening improves.

Screening is imperfect and is not a guarantee that a listing is honest.

Contact and phone numbers

Your phone number is never shown to another user. All contact runs through messages on Sefer.

Messages are automatically checked for known scam patterns so we can warn the person receiving them. We do not read your conversations for any other purpose.

Housing

United States fair housing law applies to advertisements, including these. You may not state a preference for or against protected groups when advertising a home, and describing your ideal neighbour by ethnicity or religion is exactly what the law prohibits.

Advertising property on behalf of someone else may require a Nevada real estate licence.

Shanta — travelers carrying goods

Shanta connects someone sending something with a traveler going the same way. Sefer arranges nothing, carries nothing, inspects nothing, and holds no payment.

A traveler must see everything packed and may not accept sealed or pre-packaged items. Both people are responsible for compliance with customs, airline rules, and the law of both countries.

If you carry something for another person, you are the person legally answerable for it at the border. Do not accept anything you have not seen.

ማድረሻ — meals, groceries and food for events, delivered

ማድረሻ lets you order from kitchens and markets that Sefer has registered, delivered by a Sefer driver or collected by you. Here Sefer does handle money: you pay Sefer, and Sefer pays the kitchen or market and the driver.

• Who cooks — Kitchens and markets are independent businesses. Each holds its own food permit, shown on its page, sets its own prices and is responsible for its food. Sefer does not cook, pack, inspect or taste anything. Tell the kitchen about allergies in the note; Sefer cannot promise what a dish contains.
• The price — The total is the one on your order page when you place it: the food at the kitchen's price that day, with any deal it is running, the delivery fee, and Sefer's technology fee. That total does not change afterwards. A market sells in fixed packs ("2 lb") at the pack's price, never re-priced after weighing.
• The delivery fee — Measured by distance from the kitchen. It is the driver's fee, all of it the driver's. Collecting the food yourself costs no delivery fee.
• Tips — Optional, chosen when you order, up to $50. Every cent of a tip goes to the driver; Sefer takes nothing from it.
• Paying — By Zelle, to the Sefer account shown on your order page, with the order's code in the memo. Pay no one else: no kitchen, driver or member of Sefer's staff will ever ask you to send money anywhere else, by message or by phone.
• Sefer's technology fee — Shown as one line on your order: 10% of the food and 10% of the driver's fee. It is Sefer's only charge; the kitchen or market is paid its own prices in full. You never pay more than the total on your order page.
• If something has run out — When you order groceries you choose: leave it out and be refunded, or take the same thing in another brand or size at the same price or less. The driver records at the shop what was missing. What was left out is refunded by Zelle, with the fee on it, once the order is delivered; a substitute is not refunded. If nothing on the order is there, the order is cancelled and everything is refunded.
• Cancelling an ordinary order — You may cancel until the kitchen hands the food to the driver. If the kitchen declines, or Sefer cancels, or you cancel in that time, everything you paid is returned by Zelle to the account it came from.
• Food for an event — Ordered at least seven days ahead. Half the total is a deposit, paid now to hold the day; the balance is due three days before the event, and nothing is cooked until it is paid. If you cancel after paying the deposit, the deposit is not returned: the kitchen has kept the day for you. If the kitchen declines or Sefer cancels, everything you paid is returned. You are told this on the page before you pay.
• Something wrong — Tell Sefer on the order page ("How was it?") or by reporting it. Sefer will look into it with the kitchen and the driver and decide fairly, but does not guarantee the food or the timing.
• Drivers — Sefer's drivers are independent contractors approved by Sefer, not employees. They see your address and the order, and never your phone number. While your order is on its way you can call your driver through Sefer, and, if you tick the box when you order, they can call you the same way; neither of you sees the other's number.

ቅርጫ — a share of an animal

In a ቅርጫ round, households each pay Sefer for a share of one animal. Sefer buys the live animal in the households' names only once every share is paid, has it slaughtered at a licensed custom-exempt processor, and divides it between the owners. Sefer never owns or sells meat; it charges for its service only, and its price is shown before you join.

If a round is cancelled, every share paid is returned by Zelle. A place you reserved and did not pay for may be released to someone else.

For kitchens, markets and drivers paid through Sefer

• Kitchens and markets keep a valid food permit and any retail permit their goods need, keep prices and hours true, and cook or pack what was ordered. Sefer pays a kitchen or market its own prices for what was delivered, in full, by Zelle once the order is delivered; Sefer's fee is paid by the customer. A shop that does not use the app may let Sefer accept its orders after calling it; its driver shows the order at the counter.
• Drivers hold a valid licence and insurance for the car they drive, deliver what they are given as they are given it, and are paid their fees and tips by Zelle each week.
• None of you may ask a customer for money directly, or for their phone number. Sefer may stop working with a kitchen, market or driver who does.

Suspension

We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms, or that we believe is being used to defraud people here. Where someone has been harmed, we may cooperate with law enforcement.

You may delete your account at any time from your Account page.

No warranty, and limits on liability

Sefer's board is free to use and is provided as it is, with no warranty of any kind. We do not promise it will be available, accurate, or free of error.

Where you paid Sefer for an order or a share, Sefer's liability to you is limited, to the extent the law allows, to what you paid for it.

To the maximum extent the law allows, Sefer and its operator are not liable for loss arising from your dealings with another user — including money lost to fraud, goods not delivered, or harm arising from a meeting arranged here.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Changes and governing law

These terms may change. Significant changes will be announced on the site, and the date above will be updated.

These terms are governed by the law of the State of Nevada, United States.
