Free help in Columbus
Where to get help that costs nothing or very little: a crisis line tonight, a lawyer for your papers, free tax filing, an interpreter, and the community's own associations.
Everything here is official or a non-profit, checked by Sefer. Nobody on this page pays to be here. If a helper is not a lawyer and not on the DOJ list, walk away.
Sefer has not checked local services for Columbus yet, so only the national lines are shown.
Your right to an interpreter
In hospitals, courts and benefit offices that take federal money, an interpreter is free. Ask for one.
- Your right to an interpreter in health care (HHS Office for Civil Rights)
Hospitals, clinics and social services that take federal money must give you a free interpreter. This page explains the right and how to complain if it is refused.
